Uh, really?

This customer calls in for refills on two medications: a nose spray and a tablet. We go to refill it and discover that we have never filled the nose spray here and we don't know who the prescribing doctor was.
When the patient came in the next day, he began berating the out-window technician for not having both his medications. She calmly explained that we did not have a prescription, but we could ask the doctor if he told us who has written the prescription. He then proceeded to tell the tech "I have the prescription at home, why can't you fill it?"

...

What do you say to that?

The tech then had to explain that we had to have the script in hand before we gave him any product. He could bring it in himself, mail it, or have the doctor call it in, but we weren't going to give him something for nothing. We were pretty flabergasted that we actualy had to explain that concept to him.
